I just bought a 1989 Ford Ranger 2WD for $250.  Runs perfect, but
there
is major frame rust (rust-out) at the front driver side rear spring
mount.  The mount that attaches to the frame is holding only at one
side, and there is a big hole on the side of the frame right behind
the
mount---the rest of the truck is fine, and I want to take off the box
and repair the frame and spring mount---any suggestions?  Thanks again
for your help.  Fred

You have already asked this question on alt.autos.ford and received 5
replies, some of them were actually quite helpful.  What's the problem,
didn't like the answers?  At least you got the year correct in the
headers of your other post.  I doubt there was a Ford Ranger in 1898.

To I. Care:  f.ck YOU and f.ck OFF.  MIND YOUR OWN f.cking BUSINESS.
I'm going to keep asking until I get a worthwhile answer.  The answers
on alt.autos.ford ain't makin' it at the moment.

Well that rant is a real adult attitude.  How much help you think you
are going to get from people here when they see you acting that way?
Since you already know the answers you consider worthwhile why don't you
save your juvenile foul mouthed rantings and fix it the way you want?

When you post in a USENET NG it is everybody's business.  It's a public
NG, it's no different than going to a public meeting and asking for
opinions.

Take it to a body shop, let them look at it and give you an estimate
that includes a detailed plan of repair.  Then decide it's too expensive
and fix it yourself.

Here in Indiana, about 20 miles northwest of Richmond, there is a town
called Losantville on US 35 in Randolph county. Just south of the
town, not even a city block on County Road 1100, there is a junkyard
that is a favorite place that I enjoy going to. It's called The West
Brother's. Rick and Roger West run it. They are the least expensive
junkyard, that I am aware of, in indiana, Ohio, or Kentucky. I would
suggest buying a chassis. That would be safer and save you a lot of
money, than to try and patch up the frame that you have.
