why not run Norton and ZoneAlarm and quit worrying ?

Z.A. flags it with a ' .zl9' suffix, which can't be opened

True, and not only that, once you get the file (suspect file), if it
managed to be downloaded past Norton, you can highlight the file and
scan it individually, thereby being sure of its' infected/non-infected
status.

I haven't had a Norton Red-Flag since I upgraded Z.A.

Like you, Z.A. is my first line of defense.  Most everything in mail
has been caught by it, at least what RoadRunner let through (which has
been surprisingly little).

You know, that is one nice thing I can say about my Roadrunner service....I
get very, very little of the virus email bs that flies around...they can't
filter out the Viagra and other Spam email for sh.t, but they do a bang up
job on virus/trojan/etc emails.

Mediacom was doing a great job till this last virus
epidemic...............I've gotten over 4000 (yes, thousand) of them the
last two weeks

Z.A. zapped them all
