Well let's see, I ask one simple question.
So far I've had 6 responses and not one
responder has answered the question.

The response have run the gauntlet.

1. I should only be concerned with towing my Corvette.
2. I'm too old to be concerned with the performance of my vehicle.
3. Is the truck loaded or empty.
4. One responder gave me the info in kilometers, with a useless link.
5. And another suggests I spend the night at the track.

All I can say is Thanks Guys.

I thought that I wasn't going to find anything. I don't know
if this is exactly like your truck, but it should be close. Mine
is a 2004 4x4 Lariat with 18 inch wheels, so I would expect
mine to be slightly slower.

Good Evening Mark:
Thanks for the info, it was by far the most informative I've read.
If memory serves me, the 2004 5.4 Litre was a three valve engine.
So, I guess I'm doing alright with my engine (which is not the three
valve). And I am running 18" wheels.    Thanks again.

The Triton V-8 has 2 intake valves and 1 exhaust valve.
It is amazing to get 300 HP and 365 LB-FT torque out of
just 330 cubic inches.

Back to you Mark:

I'm running a Supercab with a 5.4 Litre. I bought it with 20,000 miles
on it. I am the second owner. I have put 163,000 on it with a grand
total of 183,000 miles. Best mpg when I bought it was 17. I have not had
any problems at all. I do regular preventive maintenance and it runs
perfect. Modifications:  Cat back Flowmaster dual exhaust, Cold air
intake, 18" wheels and Plus-1 tires. With these changes my mpg is
running 20. I also use Red Line Water Wetter. I have just installed the
Edge Evolution Programmer. I am hoping this gets my mpg up around 22-24
miles per gallon. I intend on keeping this truck a long time......

The bump in fuel mileage is useful. Thanks for sharing.

Having said that, the chip set is giving you about 4 mpg. How much gas do
you have to buy before the chip pays for itself?
Ron Crismond - 18 Jun 2008 02:22 GMT
I figure I will have to drive 8000 miles to pay for the programmer. But
with the performance I'm getting, I'll enjoy driving the 8000 miles...

You're welcome. Obviously, nobody cares.

Ron,

And you couldn't read the info where I converted kilometers to mph for
you?  I simply showed you the information was available with a simple
Internet search but you were too confused/lazy to do some research and
look for the info on your own.  Another guy that thinks everyone should
do their research for them and when they do get the answer what kind of
thanks do they give?  In my opinion the thanks was a smart-a**
complaint.
