Does anybody know where I can get a Harmonic Balancer Installation tool for
a 2004 Ford  Ranger 4L ? The kits the parts stores rent do not fit,

The universal tools do not work. It needs to have a long lead screw to go
through the hole in the balancer.

How long does it need to be for the 4L?  If you know anyone with a lathe,
they could maybe make you a longer threaded shaft. Or go to a hardware store
and pick up the needed length of threaded rod with the appropriate thread.
Or is it the adapter end that's not long enough? Sorry, I haven't run into
this problem before.

Here, if you plan on doing this a lot:

Installation?

I've only used the removal tool.

I haven't done one is a long while, but the last time I did it, I aligned
the keyway on the balancer with the key on the crankshaft and tightened the
bolt.
