98 contour tranny

98 contour 2.5 auto. Please help. tranny is pushing fluid out of the
dipstick tube. Seems to get worse when turned off.Thanks Greg

Sound like you have to much fluid in the trranmission. Remove the pan,
draining the fluid, replace the filter(good idea any way)and refill to
proper level.

Filter is not easily replaceable, requires dismantling the
transmission.

Why the heck did they design it that way?

I had to put my 95 Contour to rest after the *second* tranny failed on me.

I didn't think it was worth rebuilding the tranny, so I upgraded to my
Grand Marquis.

Not overfilled.seems to shift okay.just leaks like crazy out of
dipstick tube. pushed dipstick all the way on and it pushed it back
off. help before I get screwer at the shop.

Have you checked the breeder, if any, sounds to me its clogged
