How could you replace timing parts and belt on a '99 contour back in '95?

Have you checked pump pressure?
And food for thought, those injector cleaners you put in the tank have
to clean from the tank forward.
it might take a few bottles to really clean the system.

If the stalling is related to how much fuel is in the tank (mine
stalled with about 1/3 to 1/4), it's probably a dirty in-tank fuel
filter.  This filter is inside the fuel pump housing.  The fuel pump
can be removed from the backseat.  Remove the pump, remove the fuel
level sender, and then pop the the fuel pump housing apart.  The filter
is a vertical sock, and will be dirtiest on the bottom.  Remove sock,
and clean with carb cleaner.  Reinstall and you should be good to go.
Also, check on the www.contour.org website.  If you have any further
questions, email me directly, as I don't normally check this user's
group.

Your problem is probably a leaking/rotted out PCV hose.  Usually accompanied
by P0171 and P0174 trouble codes, causing a check engine light.  This is
causing a massive vacuum leak, resulting in a lean running condition.  Easy
fix.
