When this happened to me, it was an interior light switch
in the door that was sticking on and was intermittent.
The clicking was the light relay.    It always clicked once
when the lights operated but I had never noticed it until it
was clicking repeatedly because of the bad switch.

I did not replace the switch.  I just squirted a lot of WD-40
into it and operated it a lot of times by hand and it has
worked okay for 9 months so far.
