I have a 1999 Ford Expedition that will not go to park. Strangely
enough R is now park, N is reverse, D is neutral and 1 is drive.
Anyone know why this is?

Broken shift indicator cable or, if there is a lot of play in the system,
the bolts are backing out of the shift rod

The cable that connects your shift lever to the transmission is out of
adjustment. You need to have it readjusted/repaired.
I suggest that you join the Expedition Owner's Group Mailing List and ask
the question to that group. See
