CyberSurvey: Have UAW members given up enough or should auto makers expect
more concessions?

     There's been enough concessions.  21.83%

UAW needs to make more concessions.  78.17%

Considering what is involved in assembling a vehicle on the assembly line
and comparing that to what is involved in repairing this vehicle in the
shop... I would opine that the trade union has fulfilled it's role. It has
made those that put tab 'A' in slot 'B' higher in the food chain than those
that actually have to know what tab A and slot B are all about.

The assembly line worker has no more chance of repairing a car than a shoe
salesman has of putting new heels on your boots.

What many folks seem to have missed.... Trade unions have more clout than
they have earned... While the trade union has improved the life of auto
assemblers dramatically, it has inflated the cost of the automobile beyond
belief.

Whatever happened to the old idea that, if you did your job, you got to keep
it... that, if you did your job well, you got a raise? Trade unions work on
"seniority"... You can be the worst f.ck-up the world has ever seen.... If
you've been a union member long enough, you're allowed to be a f.ck-up.....

The really sad part about all of this is that those that do the least, cry
the most.

Another question might be "has the UAW finished raping the consumer?".
