Hi all,

I have a UK Spec escort with 1.6 Zetec engine.

I have a problem with it "hunting" at tickover (idle) when it is started
from cold.

Once its warmed up a bit is ok.  it runs fine whilst driving.

Can any suggest what the problem may be before i take it to the dealers, it
is something simple to repair i would like to try and fix it myself.

Thanks in advance.

Check the coolant level in the radiator, not the expansion bottle.  air
leakage can mean coolant is low and the temp sensor the injection
computer is looking at is getting inconsistent signal.
