I'm wondering if anyone can share advice on the following problems
with a Ford KA2 (UK) after a crash, and with diag codes P0102, 0113,
and 1479. The car had a minor frontal crash, not serious, but enough
to crumple the bonnet (hood), break the driver side indicator bulb,
push the front of the engine compartment in somewhat, and twist a few
other things here and there.
The car was repaired by a body shop and looks perfect again, but after
5 minutes or so of driving, the car now tends to stall, and has major
hesitation at times when accelerating or pulling away from rest. This
gives a very scary driving experience, and imho is essentially now
unroadworthy and dangerous to be on the road. Certainly I don't want
to be driving a car with these problems!
The car drove perfectly before the crash, but the repair centre (VARC
in Sidup, only a body shop), claim that the problems were unlikely to
be because of the crash, and also not due to anything that they would
have done to repair the car.
I looked up the meaning of the diag codes (found by the AA when they
took a look), and I'm wondering if the problems with MAF, IAT and HFC
could
a) cause the stall/hesitation issues, and
b) could have been caused by the crash.
Point b might be difficult to prove, but its frustrating when the
insurance company return a car in a worse drivable state than before
it was repaired, and to have a body shop implying that the fault must
have preexisted.
Any thoughts and advice most welcome!

Look very closely for damage to any sensors and/or wiring. Pull the neg
battery cable off for about 5 minutes. Reinstall the cable. Start the car.
Does the CEL light come on right away? Does it take a while to come on? If
it comes on right away then it is most likely a damaged wire(s) or sensor(s)
from the crash. Look for anything broken, cut wires, new electrical tape on
wire lumes that could be covering damage, that kind of thing. GL
