Squealing Electronic climate control 99 CV

Hello,

My 99 Crown Vic's Automatic climate control lets out a high pitched squeal
sometimes. If the system is turned off for a few minutes it starts to
squeal. Selecting any setting stops the squealing for a short period. It
ussually takes a few minutes of changing settings before the squealing sone
goes away.

Any advise or similar experiences?

Not clear... if it is squealing and you turn the engine off, does it stop
immediately.. or just die out, lasting as long as the engine is turning?

It COULD be a vacuum leak.

Whatever, the EASY way out could just be to go to a salvage yard and get a
different one.
