Not likely. The Ranger uses a conventional in-line drive line and rear wheel
drive. The Escort, unless they changed them a whole bunch from the 80s, is
powered  with a horizontal transverse mounted engine and front wheel drive.
The two are not interchangeable in any economical sense.
