Motor Compatibility for 1996 Ford Escort

I wanted to see if anyone knew if the motor out of a 1993 Mercur
Tracer would have the same bolt pattern as a 1996 Ford Escort, o
would it even work, the 1993 Tracer is a automatic and the 199
Escort is a standard
