i have 1993 crown victoria. getting thumping from drivers side rear,so i
put on jackstands and took off tires.i noticed wobbling in rotor and
caliper. changed rotor, pads, and caliper. still there when i put in drive
and give it gas. i can tell because car is on stands with tires off.i took
off caliper and noticed if i pull back and forth on rotor i get about 1/2"
play in the axel. do i have something in there wrong? i have disconnected
the emergency brake. thank you for your help.

Being able to push the axle into and out of the housing a certain amount is
quite normal. It does sound like there is the possibility of a bent axle
flange requiring the replacement of the axle. You could have someone check
the axle flange runout just to be sure.
