Hi,
I was about to change the oil and filter on a tranny van the other day, but
I couldn't find the oil filter any ideas? The tranny is a diesel 2 litre
plus 2002 (old shape)

I am assuming that you have an automatic on your truck - manual
transmissions don't need filters.

Did you buy the tranny pan gasket and filter kit? It should tell you
that you have to undo the pan bolts and drain the transmission, and pull
the filter and filter seal once the pan is pulled.

BTW - car part places charge obscene amounts of money for oversized pans
to catch the ATF from the underside of transmissions - try going to a
Home Depot or Lowes and get a large motar mixing tub - generally about
$6.00 - and they should me large enough to catch the drippings from most
tramission pans.

I purchased an oil filter from ford - not looked in the box yet - soon as I
couldn't see the oil filter I give the job a miss for now.

Sorry - what is a "tranny" van?  Over in the states, a "tranny" referes
to a "transmission".

You should be able to find this at any hardware or home improvement
store - I assume they have them over there?
