coolant flow

sorry about this dumb quiestion of the year but here it is. on a 88
stock 302, does the waterpump pump coolant to the top of the radiator
or does it enter thru the bottom hose? i get different versions of the
flow direction from different people.

Discharge from engine is at top, return hose is at the bottom, which is why that
hose has (should have) a spring inside, to stop hose collapse.
