i have an 1989 cavalier Z24 2.8liter MPFI V6  5 speed.  with aircondition( ive called many parts stores)    the oil preasuse gauge freakes out after the car is at normal running temp when siting at an idle. when you press the clutch in and let the car go back to an idle the oil preasure gauge goue from about 3/4 (where it normaly sets when running with a load) to 1/8 to 1/4 some times making the engine stall. what might be the couse of this. ive been told many diferent things.anything from the gauge to the camshaft and oil pump. i dont know what to belive   please repl

I had an '88 and it was the same way. Hot idle the gauge was around 1/4 or a
little lower. I think there is an underlying issue causing the engine to
stall.

Do some simple things:
Check fuel pressure
Check for vacuum leaks
Check/replace ignition components
Change oil, oil filter and flush the engine.
Change air filter
Clean throttle body, IAC pintle and assotiated passages
