Folks,

Sorry to trouble with this, but can someone tell me how to remove the drain
cock on a 2000 Alero V6 radiator?

I'm in the process of flushing the cooling system and putting in fresh
DexCool, but the drain seems plugged.  Can't get any flow, just a little
wetness.  I've worked it back and forth several times to no avail.  It turns
90 degrees open to closed.  Would like to avoid destroying it in the process
of removal if possible.

Did you try to pull it outwards after turning it?

No, I didn't pull on it, but will go out in the driveway right now and try
that.  Thanks for the tip.  Will let you know what happens.

That was it!  Pulled out on that rascal and the coolant immediately began
draining.  Thanks for clearing up this mystery for me.  Much appreciated.

See? Never underestimate how helpful it is to pull on the cock.  8^D

Sometimes your better off just taking the lower hose off. I've seen people
break them trying to get them out before.
