'91 Euro Sport Rpm problems.

Hey, I have a 1991 Lumina Euro sport. After driving it around for a
while it loses rpm when you push on the gas pedal. You have to push it
light to get any power at all. Brought it to a mechanic and he raped
the crap out of me. Claiming it was stuff I already changed... I
changed the fuel pump twice. filters are all brands new. there is like
140,000 miles on the car. any info is greatly appreciated...

Had the catalytic convertor checked? Symptoms are consistent with a
defective one. s
