Anyone know how to access the window motor to a 1994 Saturn for replacement.
The maintance manual I have is very unclear and it looks like the door has
to be removed and then disassembled. Is this correct?

You should be able to get the motor from a local parts shop. I never seen
anyone take a door off to replace one. You should be able to remove just
the inner door pannel and have access to it.

Not sure about Saturns. Most cars, you have to close the window, and tape
up the window to keep it from falling as first step. The motor is the
preventer of downward window movement.
Some manufacturers chose to rivet the actuator to the door panel. And rivet
the motor to the actuator. Two different size rivets. One can use
bolts/nuts/washers. Using the right size hardware is critical for window
operation clearance.
There's a heavy duty spring that aids the motor. It may take a finger or
two when removing it, if not careful. A heavy bench vice will aid
disassembly and reassembly.
Get new side panel and insulation plastic retainers. There's a tool for
removing these during disassembly of side panel from door. You don't have
to buy the GM version, some parts houses carry similar that works just as
well.

Thanks for the help, this looks to be fairly complicated
