Car Forum / GMC Cars / April 200698 Cavalier ignition relay
I need to replace the relay that prevent high current from flowing through the ignition switch. The relay was originally installed by the dealer during a recall. The relay is marked Omron #12177235. The auto part clerk told me it's no longer available and I should install Omron #12177233 instead. I tried to find #12177235 elsewhere with no luck. Nobody seems to have it. Is GM now install #12177233? Can it be used to replace #12177235? And you would trust the information here over the dealer parts guy why? Part numbers are often changed as parts are modified either to improve or cheaper to manufacture.
