GM is arrogant to the end. They have no Parts Manual to sell me for my
Lucerne despite the fact I have money to buy it. No CD-ROM available for
their customers, they say. Its propriatary.
How come a parts manual is available for a DC-9 and not for a Lucerne?
There's more secrets to hide in a jetline than there is in a car, wouldn't
you say? Maybe because the government has some input on this issue for
planes it doesn't have for cars. If that's so, we need some Obama-style
"change."

I guess they dont have to do it, but it seems another step in alienating a
segment
of the customer base.
IIRC, Acura has kept its information secret as much as possible, but then
that
is also a GM "product"

Acura is a Honda product, not GM.

Honda certainly produces the Acura, for GM. Look carefully at the
way I posted it. I thought most on here would catch the wording.
GM is the company who "owns" ( note please "...") the right to market
Acura and who stifled the release of the repair manuals, etc.

Aw Shux...Since you have to go to a GM Acura dealer to buy one.
It is their "product", even though they dont manufacture it.

Well, maybe I just thought that Acura was marketed via GM. Sorry.

Maybe they don't want somebody in China copying their work,
who really knows?
By the way, they aren't telling you because its company proprietary,
not some national secret.
And for them going bankrupt? Don't hold your breath, you may
die of natural causes before GM goes down.

A DC-9 is sold and maintained decades after introduction and is government
regulated.

Yep, that'll do it! GM bites the dust because they wouldn't sell George
a parts manual. You'd think they would have known!
