Good XM Radio Discount in mail today - after I canceled

JM - 21 Aug 2004 00:36 GMT Since I haven't been driving my '04 Accord much, I let the XM lapse after the free 3 months. XM has sent me 5 or 6 letters, trying to get me to sign up again at the standard $10 a month. No deal.
Now, 2 1/2 months after I discontinued the service, they've finally sent me a decent offer:
One year for $60. (half price) Three months for $6 a month. (40% off) Or, pay list price of $10 a month and get crappy travel coupons.
So, if you're ambivalent about keeping XM, you'll apparently get it a lot cheaper if you cancel and wait them out.

Not to mention that the receiver is 3 times the size of the old Delphi SkyFi, which of course has been superceded by the new Delphi Roady, which is much smaller still.
The Sirius receiver is a friggin' brick. I can't imagine mounting that thing anywhere in my car.

If they did, it'd be worth more than the car itself.

Elmo P. Shagnasty - 21 Aug 2004 14:11 GMT > > Maybe he wants the company to be around after next year... > > Maybe he doesn't want to listen to NFL games? Don't confused Dr. Pimp Daddy with facts. In his world, everyone wants to listen to NFL games.
Facts only get in his way.
He Hate Retard and Moron - 21 Aug 2004 23:54 GMT >Maybe he doesn't want to listen to NFL games? That's what the other 119 channels are for... duh!

If he doesn't want to listen to NFL games, then he can pay less money and have XM, which is a superior service.
PB - 21 Aug 2004 22:33 GMT > > Forget XM. > > [quoted text clipped - 3 lines] > > ;0) I have been hearing that about sirius "won't be around in a year" for the past 18 months. I have sirius and love it(the nfl is a nice addition). If Sirius goes out of business tomorrow(which I certainly am not worried about), it would have definitely been worth the money(equipment cost was a whopping $89).
Now that I have had satellite for well over a year, I couldn't imagine going without it.

They have a very high cash burn rate, low subs and lag market leader XM. They'll probably be around in a year, but for investors, they're not a good play - consumers maybe, but not investors...

Elmo P. Shagnasty - 21 Aug 2004 12:34 GMT > Forget XM. > > Get a Sirius, it has NFL. What if I don't give a sh.t about NFL?
You think the world revolves around sports? It doesn't. If YOU like NFL, great. Why don't YOU buy Sirius. But let the rest of the world figure it out on their own.
Crawl back in your hole, a.shole. And sit there with the huge bag of chips and sit like a lump and watch football. That way you're not bothering anyone else.

Only girls and faggots hate NFL... not sure which category you fit.

Where do people listen to it besides the US, US military installations and embassies? It's hard to imagine more people listen to American football around the globe than who listen to World Cup soccer (which the rest of the planet calls football), so unless you have a URL to back this up, reasonable people will assume you just made it up.
> Only girls and faggots hate NFL... not sure which category you fit. Calling someone a faggot has got to be Godwin's 2nd law of Usenet, same as calling someone a Nazi. Guys who are compelled to call others girls & faggots all the time almost always have serious problems with their sexual identity, so you might want to look into that.

Reply: Whoopee! (false enthusiasm)....I am not much into LISTENING to football games.I would rather WATCH them on TV if I am going to peruse them via the media. To me,listening to a football game is akin to watching GOLF,which is not all that interesting. Not much incentive there to switch satellite radio services,at least where I am concerned.

Who cares.... there are MILLIONS that would love to listen to every NFL game every single weekend. Whether it be taxi drivers, truckers, delivery drivers, who are on the road on weekends.
I would definately sign up, since I like to bet on them and listen to updates in my car. Too much smoke and yelling in sportsbooks.

Too much smoke and yelling in sportsbooks. That may be--but your response was "get Sirius, it has NFL" when someone asked which one he should get.
Millions might like to listen to NFL. That leaves tens of millions who wouldn't. So you remain an idiot.

To me, the nfl is a nice addition to Sirius(which I have), more because of Sirius' nfl channel which is essentially sports talk for the NFL than the actual games themselves.

He also uses gloves to masturbate.
JM - 22 Aug 2004 03:12 GMT > Forget XM. > > Get a Sirius, it has NFL. But, my '04 Accord came with XM. (It wasn't a selling point for me, however.)
And, I've had a 60" Sony LCD Hi Definition TV since Christmas. I'll WATCH my NFL, as any TV junkie would.
Finally, my Dish Network service inclues Sirius channels. If it is anything like the car version, I can tell you that XM beats the hell out of it.
