90 Accord radio cutting out

The radio in my 90 Accord in cutting in and out.  It will play for a while
and then cut out (like it was turned off).  It will then come on again a few
minutes later, play for a while, and then cut out, etc.  My first thought
was that it was a loose wire or cold solder joint (a common problem, so I've
read).  So I took it out and resoldered all the connections to the plug
receptacle, but to no avail.  One other thing I've noticed is when it cuts
out it does not reset the station presets.  So the cut-out is more like it
was just turned off at the switch, rather than unplugged from the power
source.

Any ideas what might be going and whether it fixable?  (Time for a new
radio?)

Thanks for any help/advice.

Pat, if you're in North America, you can get a fairly current
replacement radio / cassette or CD off eBay for cheap. you already know
how to swap it. Plug -n- play connector too. Same connector up until
'97. Acura works too. Contact me if you need tips.

Thanks for the feedback.  You're right, there definitely are a lot for sale
on eBay, and I'd rather just replace it than try to fix it, given how
inexpensive most of these are.

Will any Honda (or Acura) radio from 90 to 97 fit (or does the replacement
specifically have to come from  a 90 Accord)?

Thanks again for the help. -Pat
