Around the Boston area I'm getting quotes from the dealer for 750 to
850 bucks!  I dont want to take it to a small garage bacause i feel
timing belt is a major deal???

Any suggestions about if its something that a small garage could
easily do or should I take it to the dealer?

Also does this sound high 750 to 850 bucks???

Thanks.

I'll do it for $150. But you gotta fly me out there and provide hotel & food.

Aren't you supposed to stay away from boys under the age of
10?

Not for a dealer in one of the most expensive cites in the U.S.

Runs around $400 where I am at an independent shop for my 1991 4-cylinder Honda
Civic. I imagine it would be over $500 at my local dealer. I am out West but not
in California.

A good import shop can do it, but make sure they  use OEM parts and will add
only OEM coolant. (Normally, the water pump is replaced at the same time as the
timing belt, and a little coolant needs to be added.)

Just had it done.  $500 including water pump and counterbalance belt.
Mid South.  Not a dealer but a respected Mechanic who specializes in
Hondas and other rice burners.  Only uses OEM parts.  He is considered
high but very reliable in this area.

>>Thanks.

I had an independent Honda mechanic do mine for $200 labor and I ordered
all the parts online including water pump for about $100.
