rattling in 2000 civic ex

ABout one month ago my 2000 Honda civic ex coupe (35,000 miles) started to
make a rattling noise only at 1000 RPM. I have been told that this is due
to either my catylitic converter heat shield or a loose exhaust mount.
Either way I have found that it seems to be a common problem for all civic
models with in the year. Has anyone heard of this before, and if so anyone
have a quick fix?

My son's '99 Civic coupe had the heat shield rattle. It occured at the
same rpms.

I had a 2000 coupe that the latch on the hood made a squeeking type
noise... cured with grease
