Hi, have a baby due in November and considering an Element. I'm a little
concerned about the rear-seat access, though. Anyone carry an infant in
this vehicle and what are your impressions? Thanks in advance.

Really? When in November? My wife is due December 1st, but we're betting
it'll be on Thanksgiving day.. If he's any relation to me, he'll be
interrupting us during dinner :)
We just did one of those 4D Ultrasounds, too.. Check it out:

Pretty amazing. We've had a coupla pretty detailed ultrasounds but no 4Ds.
But we'll get to see her in the flesh in a little more than a month so we're
almost there. Best of luck to ya.

get an Odyssey. You'll be glad you did. I tried talking the wife into an
Expedition but she didn't want to have to climb in the vehicle to put the
baby in. I know the Element is much smaller, but it still might be an
issue. With the minivan you have direct access to the car seat from
standing next to the vehicle. and the self opening doors are just damn
cool.
we have a 2 year old and the wife drove an Explorer during the infant stage.
oh, the explorer reminds me, check the distance between the seat where the
car seat will be and the front seats. the kid will be kicking your seat
soon enough. this is the other reason for the minivan; much much more room.

Try hondasuv.com for all the good info on Element . . . I'd steer away
from Element because the rear doors / seatbelts will drive you NUTS in
no time, with kids climbing in and out. (get a CR-V)

Getting into the rear doors when parked next to another vehicle will be a
nightmare. Go to a dealer and give it a try; you'll see what I'm talking
about.
