pushing my record a little further with a 1991 accord LX 2.2L manual. I'm
convinced I could have done 30-40 extra miles on the freeway with what was
left but a Dallas-Houston-Dallas trip was enough for me and I filled it up
back home before the price rose again. I was going 60-62 mph on my trip and
I spent maybe 10 miles of city driving in Houston.

That's awesome.
Are you getting pretty close to the spec 17.1 gallons there? I've gotten
400 on a tank (I have the same car) but I have never run it so low as to
take more than 16 gallons in.
And how many miles on it?

"I was going 60-62 mph on my trip...."
You might have achieved the world mileage record on an Accord but what
is the point of putting your life and other at risk for going 60-62 mph
on the interstate.
