Should be fine. I'm thinking don't go over 2k pounds though. You may
want to check the specs on the hitch itself (if aftermarket was
purchased). Check out the hauling capacities of this hitch:

Your capacity on the Honda will be 1000 lbs including the trailer.

Thank you for the info. 1000lbs with the trailer. That's not much but it
will have to do. I love Honda, I presently have an 02 Civic 5 speed. It's
a great lil car. I want to stick with Honda but I need to be able to tow
cause the Civic cannot hold want I need to bring with me on trips. Besides
i get great Service @ my dealership.

Also with the torque multiplication of the automatic it will be easier to
tow with an auto as opposed to the stick.
I have a 96 accord 4cyl auto, and I purchased a 4 x 8 folding trailer a few
months ago. I have limited space and I love the trailer. It weighs about
250lbs so I have a 750 lb capacity with the car. The trailer is actually
rated at 1400+lbs. If I was doing a short local, low speed haul then I would
consider going above the car's weight limit. That would probably only come
into play if I was hauling dirt, concrete, etc. Just hauling couches or
furniture is no problem since you probably couldn't get enough in the
trailer to reach that weight.
