I have a 2001 Accord LX-V6 with 70k miles on it and I have had all
scheduled service performed at the dealer. Recently it has been acting
differently.
It has started to exhibit occasional rough idle when the car is
sitting still, like when stopped at a traffic light. It feels like
there is someone in the car bouncing their leg up and down quickly and
shaking the car. If I press gently on the gas to increase the rpms the
shaking goes away. I've noticed this shaking when the air conditioning
is on but I cannot say that it doesn't happen when the air
conditioning is off. Also, when I feel the shake I cannot tell if the
radiator fan is on . . .
The engine in this car used to fire up almost instantaneously when I
turned the ignition key. Now it takes maybe 2 - 3 seconds of cranking
before it starts. It's nothing I would think about if it hadn't
started up so quickly before.
I still have the original battery which is now at least 4 years old. I
checked the charge indicator light. It is green way down at the bottom
which according to the label on the battery means it is acceptably
charged . . .
Any ideas what might be causing this shake when I idle?
Thanks!
George
