hi

1991 civic dx, when hot (sometimes) stop to get gas; then no crank; all
lights, gagues, radio; can hear a relay <click-click> behind the radio
as I key into the starter position, but no starter action/noise at all.
All is normal otherwise.

Thanks,

Reid

automatic
you mean like the lever isn't all the way in Park or N?
if so, wriggled it quite vigoursly, unless the switch fails completely
when it gets hot...

I though more on this neutral start switch
after 14 yrs & 175k miles I think I just drop $35 on a new one
that will be less frustrating that trying to locate my ohm meter

thanks

When you say a relay "clicks", you mean the solenoid sitting on the starter
under the hood? (loud clicks, being able to hear them from outside of the
car)
If so, most likely your starter is bad.

the relay click is clearly somewhere in the dashboard area, doesn't
sound like the heavy starter solenoid, my click sounds very close to
the passanger area.
