Hi, I am stuck with a difficult situation here. I can buy an old
Porsche 944 for roughly the same price as a CRX Si. Does anyone have
experience with both these cars? I know the CRX is extremely reliable,
but haven't heard much about the 944 in this regard. If not the Si,
which other car comes closest in terms of precision, performance, and
reliability?

I don't recall the best Porsche website, sorry.  But Q's about
buying a used 944 come up frequently in enthusiast sites.  Generally
the advice is: don't.  Or at least: be careful.  Basically, 944's
are cheap to buy, fun to drive, but very expensive to maintain.  The
usual advice holds: check for complete records, and buy the best one
you can find.  I've thought about a 944 off and on for over 10
years, but it always gives me pause.

If I could find a really nice CRX Si, I'd buy one.  Others I'd
consider are old 3-series and Miatas.  Though obviously this is a
pretty disparate group of 4 sporty/sports cars.
