I have an 1990 Honda Accord ex automatic which has been sitting on my
driveway for 6 months now. It starts fine but as soon as I shift to
drive the engines dies. I tried to adjust the idle but still I get the
same engine response. The problem started after I changed the cylinder
head gasket. There was oil on the spark plugs due to leaking gasket but
it's fixed already. Anyone out there who has the answer?

you don't get oil on the plugs due to head gasket - you get coolant in
the oil or gas in the coolant. oil on the plug threads is due to a
rocker cover seal. oil on the electrodes is typically due to leaking or
blown rings.
if it won't take any load and you've just changed the head gasket, check
the timing belt was fitted correctly. if the valve timing is off, it'll
only just run, and the load of the auto can kill it.

I'm wrong about the gasket. I believe it's not the headgasket that I
replaced but rather the gasket on the engine's top cover (thanks Jim).
Anyway, can PCV have anything to do with the engine stalling when I
shift the gear to drive? It just started acting that way after a minor
accident.

If it's stalling while cold, there's three or four things it could be.
I've heard that people who use premium gas often get that complaint.
Another thing is tight valve lash . . Has it ever been adjusted? You
didn't mention your mileage.
