Hi,
my accord has reached 19K miles and I am planning to get the 20K mile
servicing done on my acccord, and was quoted $115 + tax by a dealer. I
live in NYC and dont quite trust the ppl, not to mention that I dont
know much about cars. Just wondering if that seems like a "fair" price
for the 20K servicing (according to what is detailed in the accord
manual).
Thanks,

With 4 Hondas -- a Prelude, Civic. Pilot and Accord, I have found that the
service can range from about $60.00 for the 7500 miles services to around
$300 for a 30 k service. Depending on what they say they do, the quote may
be reasonable.

There shouldn't be a 20K service on that car.
Follow what the manual says for severe driving conditions, and you'll be
fine. Don't follow any leaflets the dealership hands out.

As Elmo has stated, there isn't a 20k service, probably something that
the dealership made up. Even if you choose to get this done, what
exactly are they going to do in that service. You want to find this
out first before getting anything done to see if the $115 is
justifiable. Unless this has recently changed, on most Hondas your
first major service ie, checkup of belts, transmission fluid change
air filter changes are at 30k.

Beware of the "necessary brake job".
Does your manual have a 20K service listed?
