The only possibilities are the switch in the float (attached to the lid in
the brake reservoir) and the switch on the parking brake.
My '00 TL did something like this once and it turned out the problem was
that the wires coming off the float had gotten pinched between the lid and
the body of the reservoir. They have a tendency to twist with the lid into
the latch when you tighten the lid. I took off the lid, exercised the float
up and down by hand and put the lid back on carefully (at least more
carefully than it had been done the previous time) and the problem has not
recurred.
The other possibility is the parking brake switch. Try engaging and then
releasing the parking brake sharply the next time the light comes on. If
that switch is sticking, exercising it might free it. Also check that the
switch on the parking brake has not come loose.

You nailed it. I removed the cap to the brake fluid reservoir,
straightened the wires attached to the cap, carefully reattached the
cap, and the dashboard light is gone. Thanks.

The interval to have the fluid changed is (probably) 36 months . . .Has
it ever been done?
