The brake master cylinder on my Honda Wagon has an interanl leak, in that
the pedal will gradually go down to the floor if you maintain pressure on
it. Honda tell me that I should replace the master cylinder, but I see no
reason why it can not be overhauled & the seals replaced.
Does anyone have experience with these?

You can overhaul them, but you may find that the cost of ready-made rebuilt
versus just the parts alone is not enough to make a difference.

Ditto on that.  I replaced one on a '90 last summer.  I couldn't find
a rebuild kit.  However, I've just about given up on rebuilding brake
and clutch master cylinders.  When you can find the kits there is only
about ten bucks difference and it is hard to determine if there is any
internal pitting on your cylinder bore.  If there is you will get a
very short life out of a rebuild.  any roughness will eat up your new
piston packing in short order.

I replaced my 89 civic MC because it had a internal leak. I was told
to replace the whole MC  without reservior.  I could not find  new MC
or rebuilt MC with reservior. So I replaced with rebuilt one without
reservior.  So I did but the leaking had not solved it
because the reservior had a crack that I told later by the mechanic. No
autopart store
sell  MC's reservior. I tried on junk yard. I was lucky to find one. I
replaced
by myself a reservior. Yeah that stop the leaking...

Make sure a plastic reservior has no crack!
