Didn't say I was unhappy, but since you didn't ask, the 'advice' was not
useful. To wit, I *know* how to take the radio out; what I need are the
steps to remove the part of the console below it. I will, however, check out
that source.

has a schematic on there once you tell it what "parts you want to look for"
according to the diagram i saw, the "accessory socket" pries out- there
is nothing holding it in. and that part of the console is secured with
one screw.
