I bought my 03 Pilot used with 84K miles on it. I now have 90k miles on it.
The firestones have good tread left on them but they poor in the snow. The
dealer says the brakes and abs are working as designed, so the only left I
can do is replace the tries for winter or replace them for all season tires.
If I go with winter only tires, studs are an option, since I live near the
northeast coast, and we get a lot of black ice and ice, besides snow, but so
far, I do not see many affordable rims for sale.
The dealer says he has not had any complaints about Pilots braking in the
snow. I'll check tirerack.com.

studs don't do sh.t for any speeds over 20MPH. So unless you do all your
driving at LT 20MPH, get some good winter tires like blizzaks or
something.
Or suffer with some all seasons....

Nokian WR. Best damn all-season tire around. The ONLY all-season tire
that's earned the winter snowflake emblem.
Quiet, comfortable, and sure-footed.

http://hondapilot.org/ has many articles in the forums about tires,
including what tires to use in snow areas.

Here's a tire size calculator for you:
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
If you put the 235's on there, your speedometer will read 3.7% higher than
what it should be showing.

thanks, I'd rather stick with the stock size then.
The only studdd snow I can find this late in the season is the Bridgestone
winterforce.

The winterforce studded snows were installed on my Pilot today - I don't
think I lost much handling. I am taking it easy as I want the studs to have
a chance to seat properly. They ride much better than the winterforce
studded snows on my civic. I have to check the air pressure to see if it is
set right.
