Be carefull here, Nick. The early MP3 players which used Smartmedia
cards (like those from the Olympus digital cameras of the period), needed
to format them for use in the player. This eliminated some data on the
card
for panorama use in the camera which wasn't replaced by formatting
in the camera. So the unhappy snapper had to buy the Olympus card
to get the functionality back.
Anyway, try formating the card in the player.

umm.. I don't believe there is anyway to format the compact flash card in
the navi system (correct me if I'm wrong) I'm not using an MP3 player but
using the PC Card slot that on the DVD part of the navi system (in the
trunk, where the DVD lods theres a PC card slot)
