Hi all,

I'm replacing the rubber molding around the driver's door window
(window channel molding). Easy DIY job like rip it out and stick in the
new one? I'm pretty sure the door panel comes off- that's all of 10
minutes, but anything else like the glass itself coming out?

A one-hour job in the garage or pay $60 to the local guy?

TIA

It's pretty simple actually. Just yank the old one out and press the new in
by hand.

This should help:

It's 492kB.

You will need to remove the glass, which is easier than you'd think. And
watch for sharp edges inside the door.

Remove the interior trim panel and peel back the plastic weather sheeting.
The window is held in by two widely spaced bolts at its bottom. Wind the
window down until you can get at those bolts. Unbolt them, slide the guide
back, tilt the window and the glass just lifts out. Don't drop it! It's
heavier than you think.

Make sure you re-seal the weather plastic at the bottom, otherwise you risk
water drips onto your door sill scuff plate.

Thanks for you help again Teg. I checked the FAQ and typed in "molding"
and "channel" with no useful results. How can I access this area
misc/92-95_civic_2-dr_windows.pdf?

Jus copy and paste the link in my last message into your browser. If that
doesn't work, read on...

On the main FAQ page, at the bottom of the master list, is a link to the
Miscellaneous directory. The file is in there.

You can also just type in http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/misc in your
browser and browse the list of files that comes up. Lotsa stuff in there.
I use it as a catch-all.

I've excluded the Misc directory from the search because I'm at my limit
for the free version of Picosearch. Any more indexing and I need to start
paying for it.
