You MUST used genuine Honda power steering fluid. The leaks are the
result of generic fluid wreaking havoc on the power steering system.

the leak is the result of the atf ruining the seals. you can only use
honda atf on a honda power steering system, just like it says in the
owners manual.
now, you have to spend $$$'s getting the steering system fixed. and i
mean the /whole system/ as it's all contaminated and will all be on its
way out.

Only use honda PSF in your honda unless you like spending money on
repairs and a thinner wallet.

"...do i have to use the specified HONDA power steering fluid?"
What a question. And he wonders why he has leaks. Did it occur to you to
wonder why there was a "specified" fluid in the first place?
Sorry buddy, you're looking at a rack replacement. At least.

Thank you TeGGeR for your email. the problem was the original
owner/mechanic said the ATF will be fine. I didnot know one has to use
the PSF at the first place...until it started linking...now both the PS
Seals are gone.....can you please suggest where I can get the seals.
thanks a lot TeGGeR again.

You can get a rebuilt rack at NAPA and other outlets. Honda may even have
rebuilt racks for sale. No point in trying to chage the seals yourself.
You may need to change the pump as well (also rebuilt). Better check for
leakage there.
ATF is the worst thing you can use in Honda PS systems, besides soda pop.
