hood latch cable broken, how do I open the hood?

The hood on my '91 Accord EX wouldn't close. It turned out to be that the hood latch cable was broken. I removed the cable and then put the hood down, (the hood that wouldn't close) it closed and latched. Now I can't get it open, what do I do

check the manual for the accord, but on the civic, you have to take the
bumper off and reach up behind the grille.  apita, but it doesn't take
too long.

Where did the cable break? If it broke at the lever, a pair of pliers may
suffice to grab what's left. If it broke near the latch, then what jim
said.
