I have a Honda Accord LXG 2003 Canadian modal. Today I droped off my
car at local dealer for regular service. It has only 43K KM's. My
dealer called my back and said my front brakes are totally worn out.
Has any one seen this before?

Thanks
Dabbulu

Our 2003 has 41K miles on it, and the front brakes are barely worn.  I
imagine it depends a lot upon what kind of driver you are.  I try to
drive without ever using the brakes.  Of course I know that's not
possible, but you can strive for that.  Brakes burn horsepower.  It
takes gasoline to produce that horsepower.  The more you use your
brakes, the less gas mileage you will achieve.  I see people driving
near me all the time that scream up to the stoplights, then jam on
their brakes at the last minute.  Then they wonder why they need new
brakes.

That does seem pretty short lived for modern brakes.  What has your
experience been on other cars? Brake wear is a fairly personal thing.  If
this is abnormal for your personal experience, then first make them show you
(in case they are attempting a scam).  If they are actually worn down, it is
possible that you could have a sticking caliper or defective pad that caused
premature wear.

Changed mine at 50K, on my old GS300 I did have to change them until about
80K.
