The transmission will not be fixed. It will be replaced. Honda had a bunch
of bad AT's a few years ago in their Acura and minivans. All were replaced
with no future issues.

The first part is true, but the "no future issues" thing is not quite
true. Plenty of people are on their third and fourth transmissions,
some of them being swapped out every week or two until they got a good
one.
Shame on Honda.

eh? why not? if you don't like the car, sell it. if you do, keep it
and continue to enjoy the warranty.

eh? no, but even if you did, so what? if the transmission was replaced
under factory warranty, it's as good as new, not some garbage welded
together out the back of greasy joes crowbar and bait emporium. and why
are you wasting your time with carfax? it only gives you /reported/
issues. unreported issues go... you guessed it... unreported!
> Please advice....
i advise you let the dealer fix the car under warranty, then sell it,
and go ride the bus from now on. that way you don't have any
responsibilities or any really really really hard decisions to make.

as a side note...
do stolen/recovered cars get reported? my boss had a tahoe XL that was
stolen and recovered, but they (awww... too damn bad!) took all the
teevee screens out and screwed up the dash and headliner in the process.
i say even if it gets fixed, the tahoe still has "diminished value"
compared to an unstolen one.

A tranny can leak just cause some idiot did not get the gasket in the
right place. Honda trannies are not that vulnerable to leaks - but it
does happen. A couple of years ago was on my belly in a Honda showroom
looking at the underside of an Oddy to see where the oil drain/filter
were located - real PITA on my 97 accord - have to jack her up to
change the oil.
The double digit iq sales turkey comes over and asks, "What are you
doing under that Odyssey" - said it in a very nasty tone - he was
working with a couple who were considering buying an Oddy - I said to
the DD IQ sales turkey - "Since you asked in such a nice way - hey this
tranny has a leak - tranny fluid is on the floor - better get that leak
fixed before some sucker buys it."
My 97 accord has 194 on the clock - no problems with the auto tranny
except for replacing speed sensors - easy fix at about 140K.

Thanks for all your valuable feedback on this. Well, let honda fix the
transmission problem and keep it until it has a factory warrenty until
36K and sell it.
None of the car is near perfect, understand ofcourse cars are assembled
by human being.

If you sell the car or trade it in your losing at least 25% of what you
paid, or will pay.
(Assuming you purchased rather than leased). If the car keeps giving
you problems than you can talk to the dealer and if the dealer has no
"good will" offer to make, then you can use the "lemon law" to get out
of this particular car.
