Hello,

I know that the 2006 Accord has added 6 more HP and DRL's and LED tail
lights and heated mirrors. I heard rumors that the 2007 Accord might
add active head restraints, another great safety feature. Does anyone
know of any other possible considerations for future models? I think
they should add a sequential sport shifter for those of us that live in
the city and only want to drive a standard on the weekends.

More than anything I would love to see Xenon HID's added or even an
available option on the 2007. When you can get it on a Ford Focus and a
Toyota Prius you should be able to get it on an Accord and I think its
a good safety feature.

My wifes's 2005 hybrid accord certainly does have mediocre headlights.
Consumer Reports rated them fair, I believe.

You may want to try a set of higher performance GE bulbs available at
WalMart. Not a substitute for HIDs but probably better than what you
have now. Bulbs dim over time so figure on replacing them every 2 or 3
years, which, I'm lead to believe, is close to the life expectancy of
these GE bulbs.

Yeah, give me HID so they can be physically ripped out of the front end
by thieves like other car owners experience.  Also, they're so
unreliable that Honda Care extended warranty won't fix them on equipped
Acuras.

I have never heard of anyone having trouble with HID lights. I suppose
there are instances of HID theft, but it is few and far between. I have
never seen any cars driving around with evidence of this happening. The
price of an HID bulb is about 100.00. Why not steal the wheels for a
much higher gain?

Because rims are much heavier and larger. Kinda hard to conceal them in
a backpack.

they take the whole setup. MBs and nissans are the easiest to steal,
supposedly.

Maybe a hood bolt and a perimeter alarm would be a good investment in a
case like this. Still I have never seen any cars with damaged front
ends or people driving around at night with no headlights to indicate
their headlights were stolen, so I am not really convinced. Then you
have the cars that don't come with the HID standard, so how will a
thief know? For instance, HID is optional on the BMW 3 series, so it
may or not have it. Will a thief go through all the trouble to try to
break into the car and steal the headlights only to find the driver was
too cheap to get the option? Plus I don't really go anywhere where
there arenn't camera's and security. I think its a great safety feature
especially since i live in a state where the governor shut off some of
the street lights in order to save money.

The theft of HID lights are common among vehicles which combine the
headlight housing, hid bulb and the hid ballast in ONE COMPLETE
HOUSING. The thief just unsnaps the housing and you get the BALLAST and
the bulb in a couple of minutes.

This is common among leading vehicles, walk into any Nissan dealership
and ask about the Maxima. They are stealing them from DEALER LOT
vehicles. This is also common for older generation TLs, and many other
cars which integrate their HIDs into one easy to steal housing (all the
goods for free)
