Hi all,

I want to get a Del Sol even though I have never driven one.
I was wondering which engine/transmission combination to look for.
I don't need the fastest car on the road but I don't want to feel like a
slug either.
Should I stay from the automatics?  I will be using the A/C quite a bit.

Is the non Vtec also a 16 valve?

Also, how about the reliability, cost of maintinance/repairs of the
different engines?
Is there enough difference to let it be a factor?

Thanks,
Joe

I own (and have for quite a while) a '95 VTEC model. I like this engine
because of it's sort of dual personality. Stay below 5K and it's a
decent mileage Civic sort of thing... keep it between 5K and 8K and it
turns into a different animal. All I've had done to it (srvice wise) is
the timing belt and suggested intervals. I keep the oil changed of
course along with other normal wear items.

I don't think that engine was available with an automatic, but I might
be wrong about that.
