Where is the diagnostics port?

Various sources have reckoned that the diagnostics port on our UK
specification, right hand drive '99 Accord LS is under the carpet in the
passenger footwell.

Not in ours, at least, I've pulled back the carpet and found no such
diagnostics port, on an assumption that it looks like the normal OBD-II port
of course.

Can anybody tell me where the wretched thing is?  It's a European Accord, so
*not* the same as the American one... :-/

Here's a document of the PDI for an American '03 Accord:

Maybe it will help somebody, if not yourself.

In North America the location of the connector is standardized, and
you'd hope it was in Europe too.

Why not search google and look through some of the sites for OBDII
scanners and see where they say your port is? If you've got a scanner,
it should be explained in the instructions, or at least on the
manufacturer's web site . .

I have.  I might have to ask the dealer <g> heh.  :-/

Yup; it should be... unfortunately I bought my solution from a US based
company, which details the US Accord.

Then again...

The current Honda Accord is sold as an Acura in the US, so perhaps I could
look for the '99 Acura saloons...?

id try under the lip of the dashboard, on both sides. maybe near the
center console? probably facing straight down, and looks like a
trapezoid? rhomboid?

Yeah, I had a look.  Must have looked pretty funny hanging half out of the
car, upside down, this morning...

I own a 99 Accord. The port is located on the driver's side. It under the
dash board--near the far left side of the car--use a flashlite.

In the US, a chain of do-it-yourself auto parts houses will check codes for
you, for free.  Maybe the same is true in your area.
I suppose you could ask one where the connector is, or even have them check
the codes while you watch ;-)
