96 accord ex key...

If it's just because the ignition lock is dry, you can use a shot of
WD-40 temporarily. You should really lube all five locks with LockEase
aerosol, but it's hard to find. Good locksmiths carry it. It's messy
graphite, but makes it all like new.

Did you try the shift lock release, as explained in the manual, or
torqueing the wheel one way or the other, as mentioned in the manual?
When my P light won't come on, only the shift lock release will solve
the problem on my '97 CR-V. Did it today, in fact.

The accord I bought was from an insurance auction for previous theft. I
think the previous theives messed up the ingnition a bit.  I had to take
pliers and pull the key out.  Those plastic white pieces in the ignition
were hanging on to the key.  I need to pull those pieces out and be done
with it!
