Hey guys, I recently picked up a used Civic at a local dealer. one of
the downsides was that the power door locks dont work and they couldnt
figure it out:banghead: . I have metered the wires and they seem to be
dead. Using a jump pack I was able to check both accuators and they
both work lock and unlock when connected directly to a battery. The car
has a Viper Alarm system installed in it and I noticed that the stereo
has what looks to be an alarm lights in it which is dead. The viper
alarm works great only the door locks dont work at all. I have heard
rumor that if you put in an after market alarm you need to see the
dealer for parts to get the door locks to fuction properly?? any ideas
or has anyone gotten around this mess?

The only issue with taking out the factory stereo is that you need to
jumper two wires to make the interior light work.

It sounds like somebody sliced up the wiring harness when installing the
alarm.  The security connector in the Civic is undocumented so people
splice into documented wire paths near the central wiring box under the
steering wheel.
